Car

If you are driving from the Andean Northwest region, start your journey by heading east on Route 9 (RN9) towards Salta. Continue on RN9 until you reach the junction with Route 34 (RN34) near the town of General Güemes. Take RN34 south towards the city of Resistencia. From Resistencia, follow Route 16 (RN16) east until you reach the city of Corrientes. From Corrientes, take Route 12 (RN12) north until you reach the junction with Route 101 (RN101). Finally, follow RN101 to the entrance of Iguazu National Park, located in the Misiones Province. The total drive is approximately 1,500 km and will take about 18 hours, not including stops. Note that fuel and toll costs may apply along this route.

Bus

For those preferring public transportation, start by taking a bus from Salta to Buenos Aires. From Buenos Aires, transfer to a bus heading to Puerto Iguazú, which is the nearest town to Iguazu Falls. Major bus companies like Crucero del Norte and Via Bariloche operate this route. The total travel time from Salta to Puerto Iguazú by bus is approximately 24 hours. Ensure to purchase your tickets in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons. Once in Puerto Iguazú, you can take a local bus or a taxi to the entrance of Iguazu National Park. The bus fare is around 50 ARS.

Flight

If you prefer to fly, check for flights from Salta to Puerto Iguazú. Airlines like Aerolíneas Argentinas operate this route, and the flight typically takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival at the Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport (IGR), you can take a taxi or a shuttle service to reach the entrance of Iguazu National Park, which is approximately a 15-minute drive. The taxi fare from the airport to the park is around 1,500 ARS. Make sure to book your flight in advance to secure the best rates.
