Discover more about Bodega Las Arcas de Tolombón

Bodega Las Arcas de Tolombón, located in Colalao del Valle, Tucumán, is a testament to the burgeoning wine industry in the northern reaches of Argentina. Established in 2007, the winery benefits from the unique terroir of the Calchaquí Valley, characterized by high altitude, intense sunlight, and minimal rainfall. This challenging environment yields grapes with concentrated flavors and aromas, resulting in distinctive wines. The winery's history began with an attempt to cultivate capers, but the land revealed its true calling for wine production. Alberto Guardia, the director, assembled a team of experienced winemakers and agronomists to develop the vineyards. Today, Las Arcas de Tolombón cultivates 33 hectares of land, growing Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Torrontés, Tannat, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc grapes. The winery combines traditional and state-of-the-art viticulture techniques to produce high-quality wines. Their wines, including the Siete Vacas and Siete Vacas Reserva lines, have garnered international recognition, winning gold and silver medals in prestigious competitions. Visitors can explore the vineyards, learn about the winemaking process, and taste the diverse range of wines produced on-site. The winery's architecture blends Inca concepts with designs inspired by sub-Saharan Africa, creating a unique and stable environment for wine production. Colalao del Valle itself is part of the Tucumán wine route, offering a chance to explore other nearby wineries and experience the region's rich cultural heritage. The area is known for its stunning landscapes, indigenous cultures, and archaeological sites, such as the Sacred City of Quilmes, providing a well-rounded travel experience.
