By Car
If you are in Central Patagonia and prefer to drive, start by heading towards Ushuaia, the capital of Tierra del Fuego Province. From Ushuaia, take Ruta J south for approximately 43 kilometers. You will pass through scenic landscapes of mountains and forests. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Harberton Ranch. The ranch is located on your left at Km 43 on Ruta J. There is parking available at the ranch.
Public Transportation
To reach Harberton Ranch via public transportation, first make your way to Ushuaia. From the Ushuaia city center, find the bus terminal. Look for buses that head towards Puerto Almanza or other routes that go along Ruta J. Confirm with the driver that they stop at Harberton Ranch, as not all buses may stop there. The bus ride takes approximately 1 hour. The fare is generally around 300-400 ARS. After your stop, you will need to walk a short distance to the entrance of Harberton Ranch.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
Another option is to take a taxi or a ride-sharing service from Ushuaia to Harberton Ranch. This is a more expensive option but offers a direct route. You can expect the fare to range between 2000-3000 ARS depending on the time of day and traffic conditions. The drive will take about 40 minutes. Make sure to confirm the price with the driver before starting your journey.
