    From San Rafael, take Provincial Route 173 towards the Valle Grande area. The entrance to the main canyon area is approximately 30 km from San Rafael on RP173. Parking is available at various points along the route, including near the Valle Grande dam. Parking is free at Complejo Cañon del Atuel.

    First, take a bus from Mendoza city to San Rafael. Companies such as Cata and Andesmar offer services that run frequently, costing around ARS 800-1200 for a one-way ticket. The journey will take approximately 3 hours. Once in San Rafael, you can take a local bus (Iselin) from the terminal to the Portal del Atuel Base Central. This bus stops at both the central base on the river and Valle Grande. Check local schedules for times and costs.
