Discover more about La Bombonera

La Bombonera, meaning "The Chocolate Box," is more than just a stadium; it's a symbol of Argentine football passion. Officially named Estadio Alberto J. Armando, it's the home of Boca Juniors, a club with a rich history and a fervent fan base. The stadium's nickname comes from its distinctive shape: three steep stands and a flatter, vertical stand give it the appearance of a chocolate box. Built between 1938 and 1940, La Bombonera replaced Boca Juniors' previous wooden stadium. The stadium's design creates an intense atmosphere, with fans close to the pitch, making for an electrifying experience during matches. Murals by Pérez Celis, Rómulo Macció, and Quinquela Martín adorn the stadium's entrance and exterior, adding to its artistic appeal. The Museo de la Pasión Boquense, located within the stadium, showcases the club's history, trophies, and memorabilia. Visitors can explore the players' tunnel, locker rooms, and even step onto the field. The museum provides an immersive journey through Boca Juniors' legacy, highlighting legendary players like Diego Maradona. Visiting La Bombonera offers a glimpse into the heart of Argentine football culture. Whether it's the thrill of a match or the historical significance, La Bombonera is an unforgettable experience.
