Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you're traveling by car from anywhere in Litoral, begin your journey by navigating to Avenida General Paz, which is the main ring road around Buenos Aires. Depending on your starting point, follow the signs to merge onto Avenida General Paz heading towards the city center. Once on General Paz, look for the exit towards Avenida Ricchieri, and then merge onto the Autopista 25 de Mayo, which will take you directly into the city. As you approach the city, keep an eye out for signs leading to the central area. Plaza de Mayo is located at Av. Hipólito Yrigoyen s/n in the Monserrat neighborhood. Parking is available nearby, but it may incur costs ranging from ARS 100 to ARS 300 depending on the duration.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a local bus or train to reach the main transport hubs in Litoral. If you're near a train station, such as Estación Retiro, take the train to Estación Constitución. From there, you can take the Subte (subway) Line C towards Lavalle, and get off at the 'Lima' station. After exiting the station, walk towards Avenida Hipólito Yrigoyen and head east for about 10 minutes until you reach Plaza de Mayo. Alternatively, many buses also run routes directly to the Plaza; check local schedules for the best option. The bus fare is approximately ARS 40, while the subway costs around ARS 30.
Taxi/Ride-Sharing
If you prefer a more direct route, consider using a taxi or a ride-sharing app like Uber. Simply input 'Plaza de Mayo, Av. Hipólito Yrigoyen s/n, C1087 Cdad. Autónoma de Buenos Aires' as your destination. The fare will vary depending on your starting location, but expect to pay between ARS 200 to ARS 800, depending on traffic and distance. This method is convenient, especially for tourists unfamiliar with the public transport system.
Use Plaza de Mayo as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
