The waterfall itself is approximately 10 meters in height, cascading into a small pool. During the summer months, the falls become a refreshing oasis as visitors often immerse themselves in the cool water. The surrounding landscape is characterized by a small ravine known as "Quebrada del 55", a name that harkens back to the days of the Trans-Andean Railway and telegraph.
The trail to Cascada del Ángel offers scenic views of the Mendoza River and the surrounding mountainous terrain. The path begins with a moderately steep ascent, rewarding hikers with panoramic vistas before descending into the quebrada alongside the stream that feeds the waterfall. The hike culminates at the base of the falls, framed by towering rock walls.

Public Transport
From Mendoza, take an Andesmar bus towards Uspallata or other high-mountain towns. These buses stop in Potrerillos. From Potrerillos, it's approximately 10 kilometers to the entrance of the Cascada del Ángel trail. You may need to take a taxi or walk this final distance. Bus fare from Mendoza to El Salto (near Potrerillos) ranges from $4,000 to $20,000 ARS. A taxi from Potrerillos to the trailhead may cost around $2,000 - $4,000 ARS.
Driving
From Mendoza, take Ruta Nacional 7 west towards Potrerillos. The drive is approximately 65km and takes about an hour. Look for a kiosk on Ruta 7 indicating 'Cascada del Ángel'. Be aware that the access is through private property, and there is an entrance fee of $400 ARS per person. Parking is available near the trailhead, but it can be limited during peak season.
Walking
From the entrance on Ruta 7, the trail to the waterfall is about 4.1 km long and takes approximately 2-4 hours round trip. The trail begins with a steep ascent, followed by a descent into the quebrada. Follow the stream to reach the waterfall. Ensure you have appropriate footwear and allow enough daylight for the hike.
