Peñas Blancas Geological Formation - A Natural Marvel

Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Humahuaca. Head south on Route 9 (Ruta Nacional 9) for approximately 15 km. Look for signs indicating 'Formación Geológica Peñas Blancas' as you approach the area. There is a small parking area near the viewpoint, but be mindful of local regulations regarding parking.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, take a local bus from the main terminal in Humahuaca towards Purmamarca. Inform the driver that you wish to get off at Peñas Blancas. The bus fare is generally around ARS 100. Once you reach the designated stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 km to the mirador. Follow the dirt path leading up the hill; the route is well-trodden and offers beautiful views along the way.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity, you can walk to Formación Geológica Peñas Blancas - Mirador. From Humahuaca, head south along the main road for about 1.5 km until you see signs for the mirador. The walk is scenic, and you can enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Quebrada de Humahuaca. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.
