If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Río Grande. Head west on Route 3 (Ruta Nacional 3) towards the town of Tolhuin. After approximately 35 km, you will reach a junction where you will turn left onto Route 30 (Ruta Provincial 30). Continue on this road for about 20 km until you reach Laguna Negra. Be mindful that the last segment of the drive may involve unpaved roads, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended.

To reach Laguna Negra via public transport, begin by taking a bus from Río Grande to Tolhuin. This bus ride takes about 1 hour and costs approximately ARS 300. Once in Tolhuin, you will need to arrange for a taxi or a local shuttle service to Laguna Negra, as there are no public buses that go directly to the lake. The taxi ride from Tolhuin to Laguna Negra may cost around ARS 1500 to ARS 2000, and it is advisable to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.

For the adventurous, if you're already in Tolhuin, you can hike to Laguna Negra. From Tolhuin, you can take the dirt road leading toward the lake.
