• Car

  If you are driving, start from El Calafate, which is the nearest major town to Argentino Lake. From El Calafate, head southwest on Route 11 for about 36 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 40. Continue on Route 40 for approximately 22 kilometers to the intersection with Route 15. Turn right onto Route 15 and follow it for about 10 kilometers until you reach the lake. Look for signs indicating access points to Argentino Lake.

• Bus

  If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from El Calafate to Puerto Bandera. Buses run regularly, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. From Puerto Bandera, you can catch a boat service that takes you across the lake to various points of interest. Make sure to check the boat schedules in advance, as they may vary depending on the season. The cost of the bus ticket is approximately 200 ARS, and the boat ride can range from 800 to 1500 ARS depending on your destination on the lake.

• Taxi

  For a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from El Calafate to Argentino Lake. This is the most convenient but also the most expensive option. A taxi ride will cost around 5000 ARS one way and takes about 40 minutes. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand and confirm if the driver will wait for you while you enjoy the lake.

  Consider joining a guided tour that includes transportation to Argentino Lake. Many tour companies in El Calafate offer packages that include transport, meals, and guided activities around the lake.
