While public transportation doesn't directly reach the trailhead, you can take a bus to near the South Mountain Park and then walk or use a ride-sharing service to reach the Pyramid Trailhead. A single bus fare is $2.00. A short ride-share from the bus stop to the trailhead will cost approximately $10-$15.
Driving
From downtown Phoenix, take I-10 East to 48th Street, then head south to Chandler Boulevard. Continue west on Chandler Boulevard until you reach 19th Avenue, where the South Mountain Chandler/19th Ave Trailhead is located. Parking at the trailhead is free. Note that parking can be limited during peak hours.
