The Bisbee Brownstone Suites, a three-story building erected in 1904 by Lemuel Shattuck and Jacob Schmid, stands as a testament to Bisbee's rich history. Touted as Bisbee's first skyscraper, it originally housed Lemuel's grand saloon, The Shattuck, a respectable establishment known for its polished mahogany bar, shining brass footrail, mirrored walls, and glistening chandeliers.Over the years, the building has played a significant role in shaping Bisbee's history. In 1907, it served as the first headquarters for the Western Federation of Miners in Bisbee. Later, Bisbee's prestigious “400 Club” occupied the former saloon space, and the second and third floors were transformed into the Brewery Gulch Hotel. After decades of neglect, the Brownstone building was fully renovated into apartments in the mid-1980s.Today, the Bisbee Brownstone Suites offers six unique and beautifully appointed condo-style suites. Each suite features spacious rooms, high ceilings, exposed brick walls, warm wood flooring, and granite countertops. Guests can enjoy modern amenities while experiencing the building's historical charm. Located in the heart of downtown Historic Bisbee on Brewery Gulch, the suites are within easy walking distance of galleries, restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues.
