Discover more about The Oliver House

Perched atop a hill overlooking the historic mining town of Bisbee, Arizona, the Oliver House stands as a testament to the area's rich past. Built in 1908 by Edith Ann Oliver, wife of mining tycoon Henry Oliver, it initially served as lodging for executives of the Calumet & Arizona Mining Company. The brick structure was chosen to withstand the frequent fires that plagued Bisbee. Over time, the Oliver House transitioned into a boarding house for miners and eventually a private residence before being transformed into a bed and breakfast in 1986. Today, it's known as a comfortable, adults-only retreat that offers a glimpse into Bisbee's past. The Oliver House has also been featured on Ghost Adventures. However, the Oliver House is also known for its haunted history. With at least 26 documented deaths within its walls, including murders and accidents, the building has gained a reputation as one of Arizona's most haunted locations. Guests have reported various paranormal experiences, including phantom footsteps, disembodied voices, and objects moving on their own. Room 13, in particular, is said to be haunted by the spirit of Nat Anderson, a miner who was murdered there. Another infamous story involves a policeman's wife who had an affair in the 'Blue Room'; after the husband found out, he killed his wife and her lover. Despite its ghostly reputation, the Oliver House offers a unique and memorable experience for those seeking a cozy and comfortable stay in historic Bisbee.
