Public Bus
From Chandler, head to the nearest Valley Metro bus stop. Board Bus Route 120 towards 'Scottsdale'. Travel for about 30 minutes until you reach the 'Arizona Ave & Frye Rd' stop. Transfer to Bus Route 72 towards 'Piestewa Peak'. Stay on this bus for approximately 40 minutes, and get off at the 'Piestewa Peak Park Entrance' stop. From the bus stop, walk for about 5 minutes up Piestewa Peak Drive to reach the entrance of Phoenix Mountains Preserve.
Bicycle
Start your ride from the center of Chandler. Head north on Arizona Avenue until you reach Ray Road, then take a left. Continue west until you reach 56th Street and turn right. Follow 56th Street north until it intersects with Thomas Road. Turn left on Thomas Road and continue straight until you reach Piestewa Peak Drive. Turn right and cycle up to the entrance of Phoenix Mountains Preserve, which is about 2 miles further.
Walking
If you are close to the Chandler Downtown area, you can start your journey by walking to the nearest bus stop on Arizona Avenue. From there, board the Valley Metro bus as mentioned in the public bus guidance. Alternatively, if you're feeling adventurous and it's a nice day, you could walk to nearby parks or areas to find a rental bike or scooter, which can take you closer to your destination.
Ride-Sharing Service
Use a ride-sharing app like Uber or Lyft. Set your pickup location in Chandler and enter 'Phoenix Mountains Preserve' or '2701 Piestewa Peak Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85016' as your destination. The driver will take you directly to the entrance of the preserve, which is about a 25-30 minute drive depending on traffic.
