Driving
From Flagstaff, drive north on US-89 for approximately 12 miles. Turn right onto Sunset Crater-Wupatki Loop Road (FR 545) between mile markers 430 and 431. Continue for about 2 miles to reach the Sunset Crater Volcano Visitor Center and the Lava Flow Trail parking area. Parking is free after paying the park entrance fee.
Entrance Fee
All visitors are required to purchase a pass to enter Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument. A standard pass costs $25 per vehicle and is valid for 1-7 days, also granting access to nearby Wupatki National Monument. Alternatively, an annual pass can be purchased for $45. These can be purchased at the visitor center.
