Public Transit
From any central location in Gilbert, head to the nearest Valley Metro light rail station. The closest stations are located in Mesa, which you can reach by taking the Valley Metro bus routes 120 or 138. Once you arrive at the Mesa light rail station, board the light rail heading towards the Sycamore/Main Street direction. After several stops, disembark at the 44th Street/Washington station. From there, you will need to transfer to Bus Route 72 towards 32nd Street. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes until you reach the intersection of 32nd Street and Camelback Road. From this point, Camelback Mountain will be visible, and you can walk approximately 20 minutes to the main trailhead.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing services available in Gilbert. Start at the Gilbert Community Center and head west on the Arizona Canal Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with the Western Canal. Continue south on the Western Canal until you reach the intersection with Camelback Road. Turn left on Camelback Road and continue east until you see Camelback Mountain. The ride should take approximately 1.5 hours, depending on your speed.

If you are feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, start from downtown Gilbert. Head north on Gilbert Road, then take a right onto Baseline Road. Follow Baseline Road west until you reach the intersection with 32nd Street. Turn left onto 32nd Street and continue until you reach Camelback Road. Take a right on Camelback Road, and you will see Camelback Mountain ahead. This walk is about 8 miles long and will take roughly 2.5 to 3 hours, so be prepared with water and sunscreen.
