Car
If you are driving, start from the Grand Canyon Village. Head south on Village Loop Drive and follow the signs towards Hermit Road. The road is well-marked, and it will lead you to Powell Point. The distance is approximately 2.5 miles and takes about 10 minutes. Remember that Hermit Road is closed to private vehicles from March to November, so plan accordingly and consider taking the free shuttle service during those months.
Shuttle
During the months when Hermit Road is closed to private vehicles (March to November), you can take the Red Route shuttle from the Grand Canyon Village. Board the shuttle at any of the designated shuttle stops in the village. The shuttle runs frequently, and you will need to get off at the Powell Point stop. The ride takes about 30 minutes, depending on the number of stops.
Walking
If you are already at the Grand Canyon Village and prefer to walk, you can take a scenic route to Powell Point. Start at the Visitor Center and head west along the Rim Trail. Follow the signs that direct you towards Powell Point. It’s roughly a 1.5-mile walk from the Visitor Center, which should take you about 30 minutes at a leisurely pace. The trail is mostly flat and offers beautiful views along the way.
