The distance is approximately 2.5 miles and takes about 10 minutes. Remember that Hermit Road is closed to private vehicles from March to November, so plan accordingly and consider taking the free shuttle service during those months.

During the months when Hermit Road is closed to private vehicles (March to November), you can take the Red Route shuttle from the Grand Canyon Village. Board the shuttle at any of the designated shuttle stops in the village. The shuttle runs frequently, and you will need to get off at the Powell Point stop. The ride takes about 30 minutes, depending on the number of stops.
