Getting There

Public Transport

To reach Powell Point using public transportation, take the free Hermit Road (Red) Route shuttle bus from Grand Canyon Village. The shuttle is mandatory from March through November. During this time, private vehicles are not allowed on Hermit Road. The Red Route begins at the Hermit Road Route Transfer. Powell Point is the first stop on the Hermit Road. The shuttle runs frequently, approximately every 10-15 minutes during peak season. There is no cost to ride the shuttle.
Walking

If you are already at the South Rim, you can walk to Powell Point along the Rim Trail. From Grand Canyon Village, it's approximately a 1.2-mile walk to Maricopa Point, and then a short walk further to Powell Point. The Rim Trail is mostly level and offers scenic views along the way. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the Arizona sun can be intense. There are no costs associated with walking.
