Getting There

• Public Bus

  To reach Gateway Loop Trail in Scottsdale from Mesa, start by making your way to the Mesa Arts Center bus stop located at 1 E Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201. Take Valley Metro Bus Route 30 heading towards the Mesa Community College. After 14 stops, get off at the stop 'Chandler Blvd & 56th St'. From there, transfer to Bus Route 72 towards Scottsdale. After 11 stops, get off at 'Scottsdale Rd & Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd'. Finally, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the trailhead. Head north on Scottsdale Rd, take a left on Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd, then a right onto N 96th St, and follow the signs to Gateway Loop Trail.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous and want to bike to Gateway Loop Trail, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in downtown Mesa. Start at the Mesa City Plaza and head east on Main St. Continue until you reach N Recker Rd, then turn left. Follow N Recker Rd until it intersects with E McKellips Rd. Turn right and bike north on N Scottsdale Rd. Once you reach Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd, take a left, and then another left onto N 96th St. Follow the road signs to the Gateway Loop Trail parking area.

• Walking

  For those looking to walk to Gateway Loop Trail, begin at the Mesa Convention Center at 263 N Center St, Mesa, AZ 85201. Walk north on N Center St until you reach E University Dr, then turn left. Continue walking on E University Dr until you reach N Scottsdale Rd, where you will turn right. Walk north on Scottsdale Rd until you reach Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd, then take a left. Finally, head onto N 96th St, which leads directly to the Gateway Loop Trail. This walk is approximately 8 miles, so be prepared for a long trek!
