Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car within Prescott National Forest, start by locating your current position on a GPS or map app. From the center of Prescott, head south on AZ-89 towards White Spar Road. Turn left onto White Spar Road and continue for approximately 4.5 miles. Look for the sign for Lynx Lake Recreation Area, which will be on your right. Turn onto Lynx Lake Road, which will lead you directly to the lake's parking area. Note that there may be a small parking fee for the recreation area.

• Public Transportation

  If you're relying on public transportation, you can take the Yavapai Regional Transit (YRT) bus service. Check the YRT schedule for routes from Prescott to the Lynx Lake area. You may need to catch a bus to a nearby stop and then walk approximately 1 mile along White Spar Road to reach Lynx Lake. Be prepared for some elevation changes along the way. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance to ensure it's running when you plan to travel.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can bike from Prescott city center. Take AZ-89 south and then turn onto White Spar Road.   If you're already in the forest and enjoy hiking, you can reach Lynx Lake via the various trails leading from nearby areas. Look for trail markers that guide you towards Lynx Lake, specifically the Lynx Lake Loop Trail. This is a moderate hike and can vary in distance depending on your starting point, typically ranging from 2 to 4 miles. Ensure you have a map or GPS device with you, as some trails may not be well-marked.
