Getting There

    From downtown Prescott, head east on Gurley Street. Continue onto Highway 89 north, then turn right onto Prescott Lakes Parkway. Turn left onto Sundog Ranch Road. The Peavine Trailhead will be on your left. Follow the Peavine Trail north for approximately 0.5 miles. Boulder Creek Trail will be on your right. Parking at the Peavine Trailhead costs $3 per vehicle. Wednesdays are free.

    From the Prescott Courthouse Plaza, walk to the nearest Yavapai County Transit bus stop at the corner of W Gurley St and N Cortez St. Take the bus heading towards the Iron Springs Rd area. Ask the driver to let you off at the closest stop to Peavine Trailhead. From there, walk along Iron Springs Rd until you see the Peavine Trailhead on your left. Follow the Peavine Trail north for about 0.5 miles to Boulder Creek Trail on your right. A single bus fare costs approximately $2.

Boulder Creek Trail is a popular hiking area located within the Storm Trails system of Prescott's Granite Dells. The terrain transitions from smooth dirt at the beginning to more technical sections with rock features and tight turns as it approaches Easter Island trail. Boulder Creek Trail is centrally located, providing access to nearly all the other Storm Trails. Historically, the Peavine Trail, which provides access to Boulder Creek Trail, was originally built by the Santa Fe Railway in 1893. This rail-to-trail conversion offers a unique blend of history and recreation. Today, the City of Prescott and Prescott National Forest jointly manage the trail system, ensuring its preservation and accessibility for locals and tourists alike.
