From Prescott, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Gurley Street. Take the Yavapai Regional Transit bus heading towards Cottonwood. Make sure to check the schedule for the latest departure times. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the Cottonwood Transfer Station. From there, you will need to transfer to the Jerome shuttle service that operates regularly to Jerome. Once on the shuttle, it will take about 30 minutes to reach Jerome. The shuttle will drop you off near the town center, from where you can walk to Jerome's Sliding Jail, which is a short 10-15 minute walk uphill.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the rental shops in downtown Prescott. Head west on Gurley Street, then continue onto Iron Springs Road. Follow Iron Springs Road as it turns into AZ-89A. This route will take you directly towards Jerome. Be cautious, as the road can have steep inclines. The total distance is approximately 28 miles and could take around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. Once you reach Jerome, park your bike at the designated bike racks and walk to Jerome's Sliding Jail, which is a short distance from the main road.

Walking
From the center of Prescott, head towards the Prescott Courthouse Plaza. Take the path leading to the north side of the plaza, and follow the signs towards AZ-89A. This route is approximately 28 miles and while walking is not typically recommended for this distance, it can be done if you're up for the challenge. You would need to follow the sidewalk along AZ-89A, which leads directly to Jerome. It will take around 8-10 hours of walking, so plan accordingly. Once you arrive in Jerome, you can walk to Jerome's Sliding Jail, located just a few blocks from the main road.
