The Apache Trail, also known as Arizona State Route 88, is a historic and scenic drive that winds through the Superstition Mountains and Tonto National Forest. Originally a footpath used by Native American tribes, it became a stagecoach route in the early 1900s and offers stunning desert landscapes, cliff dwellings, and old mining towns.

Driving
From Apache Junction, take US-60 East and exit at Idaho Road, then travel north to connect with Highway 88, also known as the Apache Trail. Follow Highway 88, which winds through the Superstition Mountains. Be aware that the road becomes unpaved after Tortilla Flat. There is no fee to access AZ 88.
