From there, walk east for about 0.5 miles along Camelback Road until you reach the entrance to Camelback Mountain. The trailhead is well marked and accessible.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Tempe. Start at Tempe Beach Park and head north on Mill Avenue. Continue onto the bike path that leads to the Phoenix Canal. Follow the canal north until you reach Camelback Road. Turn right and head east until you reach the entrance to Camelback Mountain, which is approximately 6 miles from Tempe Beach Park.

Start at the Tempe Town Lake, head north towards Mill Avenue, and then walk along the pedestrian pathways that lead to the Phoenix area. It’s about a 7-mile walk to the base of Camelback Mountain.
