From downtown Tempe, rent a bike from a local bike share service. Head north on Rural Rd until you reach the intersection with McKellips Rd. Turn right on McKellips Rd and continue heading east until you reach Scottsdale Rd. Turn left onto Scottsdale Rd and continue north until you arrive at Pinnacle Peak Rd. Turn left on Pinnacle Peak Rd and bike for about 1.5 miles until you reach 136th St. Turn right on 136th St and the Granite Mountain Trailhead will be on your left.

Continue walking north on Scottsdale Rd until you reach Pinnacle Peak Rd. From there, turn left onto Pinnacle Peak Rd and walk for about 1.5 miles until you reach 136th St. Turn right and walk for a short distance; the Granite Mountain Trailhead will be on your left.
