Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From downtown Tempe, you can catch the Valley Metro bus route 62 at the Tempe Transportation Center. Board the bus heading north on Mill Avenue. Ride for approximately 20 minutes and get off at the stop near Galvin Parkway. From the bus stop, walk east along Galvin Parkway for about 10 minutes until you reach the entrance of Phoenix Zoo at 455 N Galvin Pkwy.

  • Light Rail

    Take the Valley Metro Light Rail from the Tempe Town Lake station. Ride towards the direction of the Mesa Downtown station. Transfer at the 44th Street/Washington station to catch bus route 62. Board the bus heading north on Mill Avenue and get off at the stop near Galvin Parkway. Walk east along Galvin Parkway for about 10 minutes to reach Phoenix Zoo.

  • Bike Share

    If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the Tempe bike share stations. Head east on Rio Salado Parkway towards Tempe Town Lake. Continue north on Mill Avenue until you reach the intersection with Galvin Parkway. Turn east on Galvin Parkway and bike for about 10 minutes until you arrive at the Phoenix Zoo entrance.

    If you are close enough to walk, start from the Tempe Marketplace and head south on McClintock Drive. Continue to the intersection with Rio Salado Parkway and turn east. Follow the path along the lake until you reach Galvin Parkway. Turn north and walk for about 15-20 minutes to reach the zoo entrance.
