If you are in downtown Tempe, start at the Tempe Town Lake. Head west along the lake path. Continue walking along the shoreline until you reach the bridge at Mill Avenue. Cross the bridge, and once you are on the other side, follow the path that leads you south along the Rio Salado. Keep walking straight, and you will see the entrance to Rio Salado Park on your right at 80 W Rio Salado Pkwy.
Bicycle
From downtown Tempe, rent a bicycle and head towards the Tempe Town Lake. Ride along the bike path that runs parallel to the lake heading west. After about 1 mile, you will reach the Mill Avenue bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on the bike path that runs along the Rio Salado. After approximately 0.5 miles, look for the entrance to Rio Salado Park on your right at 80 W Rio Salado Pkwy.
Public Transit
To reach Rio Salado Park via public transit, find the nearest Valley Metro bus stop. Take bus number 66 or 72 towards Tempe Beach Park. Get off at the stop closest to Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway. From there, walk south across the Mill Avenue bridge, and you will find the entrance to Rio Salado Park on your right at 80 W Rio Salado Pkwy.
