The park's origins trace back to the Presidio days when it served as a military plaza. In 1866, Camp Lowell was established there, recognizing Tucson's strategic military importance. Later, the site became home to an armory, giving the park its current name.Today, Armory Park provides a green oasis amidst the urban landscape. It features a band shell area, shuffleboard courts, and several war memorials. The park hosts numerous annual events, including the Downtown Parade of Lights and St. Patrick's Day Parade.Adjacent to the park is the Armory Park Center, a community center offering a range of activities and services, primarily for seniors. The original Carnegie Library, now the Tucson Children's Museum, sits just west of the park. Armory Park is also located within the Armory Park Historic District, known for its well-preserved architecture reflecting Tucson's evolution.

Walking
Armory Park is located at 222 S 5th Ave in downtown Tucson. From the Children's Museum Tucson, simply cross 6th Avenue to reach the park. From the Tucson Convention Center, walk east on Broadway Boulevard, then turn south onto 5th Avenue. The park will be on your left. No costs involved.
Public Transport
