Bradbury Art Museum: A Contemporary Art Haven
Discover contemporary art at Arkansas State University's Bradbury Art Museum, offering diverse exhibitions and community programs.
The Bradbury Art Museum (BAM) is a contemporary art museum located on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Established in 2001 by Curt Bradbury as the Bradbury Gallery, it was later renamed in 2015 to better reflect its mission of teaching, presenting, and collecting. The museum's establishment was made possible through an endowment by Curt Bradbury in honor of his wife, Charlotte, an alumna of A-State. BAM plays a vital role in the cultural landscape of Northeast Arkansas as the region's only art museum. It is committed to supporting the arts and art education through a "whole body" approach, which includes : * Exhibiting art from local and national contemporary artists. * Providing accessible, free programming within the museum and in community spaces. * Organizing cross-campus collaborations for Arkansas State University students. Visitors can explore a diverse range of artistic styles, media, and themes through the museum's rotating exhibitions. BAM also hosts the Delta National Small Prints Exhibition, an annual juried print show featuring artists from the U.S. and abroad. The museum actively engages with the community through partnerships with organizations like City Youth Ministries and El Centro Hispano. BAM is open to the public and admission is free.
