Arlington Lawn: A Historic Oasis in Hot Springs

Relax and explore the historic Arlington Lawn, a green oasis in the heart of Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas.

4.7

Arlington Lawn, located in Hot Springs National Park, is more than just a picturesque lawn; it's a place steeped in history and natural beauty. This open green space gets its name from the first two Arlington Hotels, which were once located here. The first hotel, a wooden structure, was built in 1875 to offer luxurious accommodations. It was replaced in 1893 by a grander Moorish and Spanish Renaissance-style hotel that unfortunately burned down in 1923. The current Arlington Hotel, built in 1925, stands just north of the lawn. Today, Arlington Lawn provides a tranquil escape for visitors. It features benches, picnic shelters, and scenic views, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing picnic. The Hot Water Cascade, the most prominent visible spring in the park, is located here. The lawn is also wheelchair accessible. Visitors can explore the southern entrance of the Grand Promenade, which features benches and tables. The lawn serves as a gathering place for community events, such as the Eclipse Fest!. With its combination of natural beauty and historical significance, Arlington Lawn is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Hot Springs.
