    Discover more about Crestview Park

Crestview Park, nestled in the historic Park Hill neighborhood of North Little Rock, Arkansas, offers a serene escape for families and individuals alike. This 2.7-acre park is more than just a green space; it's a place where art, history, and recreation converge. The park's most notable features are the two naturalistic sculptures created by Mexican artist Dionicio Rodriguez around 1933. These "faux bois" (imitation wood) sculptures, a rustic shelter and a footbridge, are similar to those found at the Old Mill in Little Rock and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The shelter features a front-gabled roof of overlapping hollow logs, designed to resemble a tile roof. The footbridge appears to be fashioned from a fallen tree. Crestview Park also offers a playground area for children ages 5-12, complete with slides and climbing structures. Picnic shelters with tables provide perfect spots for gatherings or quiet relaxation. The park is well-maintained and pet-friendly, welcoming leashed dogs. While the park is set on a steeply sloping parcel, walking paths offer scenic views, including a view of the North Little Rock High School campus. Originally given to the city of North Little Rock in 1921 by forward-thinking businessman Justin Matthews, the park has served as a community hub for decades. Although the city initially did little to maintain the park, the Park Hill Garden Club took care of it until the early 1950s. Today, Crestview Park continues to be a beloved local gem, offering a blend of natural beauty, family-friendly features, and a welcoming environment.
