Discover more about Arkansas River Valley Arts Center

Nestled in the heart of Russellville, the Arkansas River Valley Arts Center (RVAC) serves as a cornerstone for the local arts community. Since its establishment in 1981, the center has been dedicated to providing opportunities for education, participation, and enjoyment of the arts for all. The RVAC hosts over forty exhibitions each year, showcasing local, state, and occasionally nationally known artists in its main gallery and the New Age Gallery. The center also offers a wide array of classes and workshops for adults and children, including pottery, painting, and other art forms taught by talented local artists. During the summer, the RVAC organizes art camps for kids, focusing on various artistic activities. The center also puts on theatrical performances and concerts. The River Valley Arts Center operates out of a building that was originally built in 1936 as a changing room for the Russellville City Pool. The building was renovated and has a main gallery, a smaller gallery called the New Age Gallery, a classroom, gift shop, office, restrooms, galley kitchen, and a receptionist area. The original pool chemical storage building now functions as a kiln room, and a separate building houses the pottery studio. The RVAC also has plans to construct an outdoor stage to host outdoor acoustic performances. The RVAC is supported by memberships, donations, and grants from organizations such as the Arkansas Arts Council.
