Boyle Park, nestled in the western part of Little Rock, Arkansas, is a sprawling 243-acre urban oasis offering a diverse landscape of densely wooded areas and gently rolling terrain. Rock Creek meanders through the park, adding to its scenic charm. The park's history dates back to 1929 when Mr. and Mrs. John F. Boyle donated the land to the city with the stipulation that it be used for recreational purposes.
Development of Boyle Park began in the 1930s as a project of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the Works Progress Administration (WPA). Several structures, built in a rustic style using native stone, are considered model examples of park architecture from that era. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, recognizing its historical and architectural significance.
Today, Boyle Park is a popular destination for outdoor recreation and community events. Visitors can enjoy hiking and biking on the numerous trails, have a picnic, or make use of the sports facilities, including basketball and tennis courts.
