Ahern, along with his friend Roger O'Dwyer, established a successful mercantile in Texarkana, contributing to the city's growth. The home, located in the Quality Hill Historic District, showcases the Ahern family's life and contributions to Texarkana.
The 2+1⁄2-story concrete block structure features a hip roof supported by two-story Doric columns, reflecting the architectural style of the era.
