Walking
From the center of Alaverdi, start at the Alaverdi bus station. Head northeast on Tigran Mets Street for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Sanahin Street. Turn left onto Sanahin Street. Continue walking straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will pass through the residential area of Sanahin. Look for signs directing you to the Sanahin Monastery Complex. Eventually, you will see a sign for the monastery complex, which is located on a hill to your right. Follow the path up the hill to reach the entrance of Sanahin Monastery.
Public Transport (Bus)
Starting from the Alaverdi bus station, take a local minibus heading towards Sanahin. The fare is usually quite low, around 100-200 AMD. Inform the driver that you are going to Sanahin Monastery. The bus ride takes about 10-15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Sanahin stop, disembark and walk up the path leading to the monastery, which is approximately a 15-minute walk uphill from the bus stop. Look for directional signs as you make your way up.
