Discover more about Manukyan Brandy Factory

The Manukyan Brandy Factory, established in 2015, is located in the Kotayk region, near the Yerevan-Sevan highway. Founder Melik Manukyan envisioned the factory as a continuation of his legacy, which began with a glass container factory in 1989. The factory is equipped with European technology, which allows winemakers to harness the sun, soil, and grapes of the Armenian Highlands. Visitors can explore state-of-the-art fermentation units, witness ancient winemaking techniques (including fermentation in amphoras and the Kakhani method), and admire a collection of statues and exhibits. A unique wine cellar carved into the rock provides optimal aging conditions. The factory uses oak barrels sourced from Armenia, France, and the USA to age wines for six months to a year. These barrels impart flavors such as vanilla, toast, spice, coconut, cedar, butter, and smoke. The vineyards cultivate Armenian and European grape varieties, including Areni Noir, Voskeat, Kangun, Cot Malbec, Haghtanak, Aligote, and Cabernet Franc. These vineyards are located in the Vayots Dzor district and the Ararat Valley. The high altitudes in Vayots Dzor result in hot, dry summers with cooler nights and very cold winters. The soil composition includes volcanic rock and limestone. Tours are available, offering insights into the winemaking process and tastings. Visitors can also explore the Saranist glass container factory to learn about glass production. The factory is open Monday to Sunday.
