Public Transport
To reach the Black Wall via public transport from Yerevan, take a marshrutka (minibus) from the Yerevan Southern bus station towards Argel. These minibuses typically depart every 30 minutes and cost approximately 300-600 AMD. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Fantan stop. From Fantan, you may need to walk or take a local taxi to reach the Black Wall, roughly 3.3 km away. A local taxi should cost no more than 1000 AMD.
Taxi
A taxi from Yerevan to Fantan is a direct and convenient option. The journey takes approximately 28 minutes and costs between 4800 and 6000 AMD, depending on the taxi service and traffic. From Fantan village, a short taxi ride to the Black Wall site will cost an additional 1000 AMD. Taxi services can be hailed on the street or booked via ride-hailing apps.
Car
Driving from Yerevan to Fantan involves taking the M1 highway towards Yerevan, then exiting onto the A1 highway towards Ararat. Continue on the A1 until the turnoff for Fantan. Follow the signs to Fantan village and then use GPS coordinates (40.3743649, 44.702024) to reach the Black Wall. The drive is approximately 32 km and takes around 30-40 minutes. Be cautious on the unpaved road leading to the wall, as it can be rutted and difficult to navigate, especially in wet weather. Parking is available near the site.
