Dilijan’s Lake, or Parz Lake (Պարզ լիճ), meaning 'Clear Lake' in Armenian, is a small, captivating lake located east of Dilijan, within the stunning Dilijan National Park. Formed by natural climatic changes, the lake is surrounded by dense forests, creating a serene and reflective surface mirroring the surrounding trees.
At an altitude of 1,334 meters, the lake has an area of approximately 0.03 square kilometers and an average depth of 7 meters. Fed by underground springs and precipitation, Parz Lake is beautiful year-round, with each season offering a unique perspective. In the summer, it provides a cool escape, while in the autumn, the surrounding foliage transforms into vibrant shades of red and gold.
Visitors can enjoy various activities around the lake, including boating, zip-lining, and exploring the surrounding trails. For hiking enthusiasts, the popular trail from Parz Lake to Gosh Lake offers a scenic route through the forests of Dilijan National Park. Getting There
Taxi
From the center of Dilijan, taxis are readily available. A typical taxi ride to Dilijan's Lake costs around 4,000 AMD. The journey takes approximately 20-25 minutes. Negotiate the fare beforehand.
Public Transport
From Dilijan city center, take a local bus or marshrutka towards the lake. The bus will drop you off near the entrance of Dilijan National Park, from where it's a short walk to the lake. The bus fare is approximately 200 AMD. Check local schedules for accurate timings.
