Ijevan Wine Factory: A Taste of Armenian Tradition

The Ijevan Wine Factory, tracing its roots back to 1951, holds a distinguished position as one of Armenia's oldest wineries. Situated in the city of Ijevan, within the Tavush Province, the factory is nestled in a picturesque valley embraced by the Agstev and Spitak Jur rivers. This favorable geographical location, combined with beneficial climatic conditions, imparts a distinct character to the factory's products. Initially, the factory primarily processed grapes for brandy and wine production in Yerevan. However, in 2005, businessman E. L. Egiazaryan acquired the factory, leading to significant modernization. This included refurbishing the facilities, adopting cutting-edge technologies, and establishing exclusive vineyards. Today, the Ijevan Wine Factory produces a wide array of alcoholic beverages, including high-quality brandies, grape and fruit wines, and sparkling wines. Visitors can explore the factory grounds, learn about the history and production methods, and witness the machinery in operation. The on-site showroom displays the entire product line, offering a chance to sample the diverse assortment. Wine tastings are also available.
