Walking
The Kobayr Monastery Complex is accessible by foot only from the village of Kober. From the center of Kober, follow the signs leading uphill towards the monastery. The walk takes approximately 15-20 minutes along a path that can be steep and slippery, especially after rain. There are no entrance fees to access the monastery.
Public Transport
To reach Kober village by public transport, take a bus from Alaverdi towards Kober or the direction of Lori Marz. The bus ride takes around 30 minutes. From the bus stop in Kober village, follow the walking directions to the monastery. Bus fare from Alaverdi to Kober is approximately 200-300 AMD. Alternatively, take a bus from Yerevan to Alaverdi (approx. 2.5 hours, 1700 AMD) , and then a connecting bus to Kober

A taxi from Alaverdi to Kober village is the quickest option. The journey takes approximately 15-20 minutes. From there, follow the walking directions to the monastery. A taxi from Alaverdi to Kobayr Monastery Complex may cost around 5,000 AMD. A taxi from Vanadzor to Kobayr Monastery Complex may cost around 20,000 AMD.
