The Iron Stairways provide a path to experience the beauty of the Jermuk Waterfall, a prominent natural attraction in the town of Jermuk, Armenia. Jermuk, nestled in the Vayots Dzor province, is known for its balneological resort and stunning landscapes. The waterfall, also called "Mermaid's Hair," cascades down several tiers from a height of approximately 70 meters. According to local legend, a nobleman's daughter once lived in a castle above the gorge. She fell in love with a shepherd's son and would lower her hair for him to climb up and meet her. When her father discovered their secret, he cursed her, proclaiming that if she ever met the shepherd again, she would turn into a mermaid, forever bound to the water. The next time they met, the curse came true, and her hair transformed into the cascading waterfall. Visitors can enjoy the refreshing mist and capture memorable photos. The surrounding area offers hiking trails through lush forests, providing opportunities for picnics and immersion in nature. The waterfall is particularly impressive from the end of March to June, when the water flow is at its peak.
