Getting There

Car
To reach Mount Ararat from Khor Virap by car, start by heading south on the main road from Khor Virap. After about 10 kilometers, you will reach the town of Artashat. Continue on the highway E2 towards the Turkish border. After approximately 20 kilometers, you will see signs for Mount Ararat. Park your car at the designated parking area, and from there, you can either hike or take a local guide service to get closer to the base of the mountain. Note that you may need to pay a parking fee, which typically ranges from 1000 to 2000 AMD.

Public Transportation
For public transportation, start at Khor Virap and walk to the nearest bus stop. Take a minibus (marshrutka) heading towards Artashat. The ride will take about 30 minutes and will cost around 300 AMD. Once you arrive in Artashat, you can take another marshrutka towards the Turkish border, which will drop you off near the Mount Ararat area. After this point, you will need to arrange for a local guide or taxi service to get to the base of the mountain. Expect to pay around 2000 AMD for the local taxi ride.
