Vardanyans' Park: Yerevan's Modern Oasis

Vardanyans' Park, also known as Yerevan 2800th Anniversary Park, is a relatively new and popular park located in the Kentron district of Yerevan. Opened on May 10, 2019, the park was created to commemorate the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan's founding. The project was financed by the Vardanyan Family Charity Foundation, becoming a gift to the city's residents.Previously, the area was part of the English Park but had fallen into disrepair. The construction of Italy Street in 2002 further isolated the area, leading to its neglect. The Vardanyan family's investment transformed the space into a modern and well-maintained park.The park boasts several attractions, including a fountain complex with 2,800 jets of water, granite basins adorned with Armenian ornaments, and a map of Yerevan made of pink quartzite. Seven bronze statues, created by Armen Samvelyan, depict childhood and imagination, adding a cultural touch. The park also features a diverse collection of trees, with 250 trees of 70 different species planted throughout the area. The park is surrounded by Italy, Beirut, Khorenatsi, and Saint Grigor Lusavorich streets, situated between the statues of Stepan Shaumian and Alexander Miasnikian.Vardanyans' Park provides a serene escape from the bustling city, offering a place for relaxation and recreation. With its blend of natural beauty, artistic elements, and historical significance, the park has become a favorite destination for both locals and tourists.
