Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Goris, which is a common base for exploring Syunik. Head southwest on the M2 highway towards Kapan. After approximately 30 km, follow the signs to Noravank. You will need to take the turn-off for Noravank Monastery Rd, which is well-marked. The drive from Goris to Noravank takes about 45 minutes, and the road is scenic but can be narrow in places, so drive with caution. There is no toll on this route.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, first take a marshrutka (minibus) from Goris to Kapan. Marshrutkas usually leave from the central bus station and cost around 300 AMD. Once in Kapan, you will need to transfer to another marshrutka heading towards Noravank. Make sure to ask the driver if they are going directly to Noravank, as some may only go partway. The total travel time can take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on waiting times and transfers. The cost from Kapan to Noravank is approximately 400 AMD.
Taxi
For a more comfortable journey, you can hire a taxi from either Goris or Kapan directly to Noravank. This option is more expensive, with prices typically ranging from 3000 to 6000 AMD depending on negotiation and the time of day. This method is ideal if you're traveling in a group or prefer a direct route without transfers. The taxi ride will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour.
