From Tatev Monastery, head southeast on the road towards the village of Tatev. After approximately 3 kilometers, take the left road towards Ttujur. Continue for about 2 kilometers until you reach a small parking area near Lake Sdikh. You may need to walk the final 500 meters to the lake. Parking is free and generally available.
Public Transportation
From Tatev Monastery, take a shared taxi or minibus heading towards Goris. Ask the driver to drop you off near the village of Ttujur, approximately 5 kilometers from the monastery. From Ttujur, you can walk the remaining 1 kilometer to Lake Sdikh or hire a local taxi for a short ride. A shared taxi/minibus fare from Tatev to Ttujur typically costs around 500-700 AMD. A local taxi from Ttujur to the lake should cost approximately 1000 AMD.
Walking
For those who enjoy hiking, a scenic trail leads from Tatev Monastery to Lake Sdikh. Head southwest from the monastery, following the marked hiking paths. The hike is approximately 4 kilometers and takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Ensure you wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water. There are no costs associated with walking.
