Getting there

Public Transport

From the Dilijan bus station, take a marshrutka (minibus) heading towards Ijevan. Inform the driver you wish to stop at the Dimats Mountain trailhead; the ride takes about 15-20 minutes. From the drop-off point, follow the signs to the hiking trail. The marshrutka fare is approximately 200-300 AMD.

Car

From the center of Dilijan, head northwest on Myasnikyan Street towards Kamo Street. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers, passing the Dilijan National Park entrance. Turn left onto the road marked for Dimats Mountain and follow it for approximately 3 kilometers until you reach the parking area near the hiking start point. Parking is free. Be aware that the road can be rough in sections.

Overview

Dimats Mountain, located in the Tavush region of Armenia, is a natural wonder within Dilijan National Park. Rising to approximately 2,378 meters (7,802 feet), the mountain offers stunning panoramic views and diverse hiking experiences.The slopes of Dimats are covered in green Alpine meadows, bursting with colorful wildflowers in the spring and early summer. The mountain is visible from almost any point in Dilijan and during hikes within the national park. The trails range from gentle paths suitable for families to more challenging routes for experienced hikers. Along the way, hikers may encounter local wildlife, adding to the experience. The summit provides views of the surrounding Ijevan Mountains and valleys.Recently, Dimats Mountain has become a popular destination in Armenia. The area provides a peaceful retreat, away from crowded tourist spots.
