Public Transport
To reach Geghard Monastery from Yerevan, take bus numbers 22, 26, or 36 from the city center to Gai Bus Station. From Gai Bus Station, a minibus (marshrutka) departs for Geghard Monastery when full, approximately every 40 minutes. The minibus fare is 250 AMD. Note that the bus does not go directly to the Monastery; it goes to the village of Goght, from which you can walk (3.8km) or hitchhike to the Monastery.
Taxi
A taxi from Yerevan to Geghard Monastery typically costs around 4,000 AMD. Taxis offer a direct and convenient way to reach the monastery. You can also hire a taxi to take you to Geghard, Garni, and back to Yerevan for a fixed price of around 15,000 AMD. Be sure to negotiate the price beforehand.
Driving
Driving to Geghard Monastery from Yerevan takes approximately 40 minutes, covering a distance of 37 km. Parking is available near the monastery for 200 AMD. Be aware that parking can be limited during peak hours, so arriving early is recommended.
