Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Ijevan, the capital of Tavush. Head southwest on the M4 highway, following signs toward Dilijan. Drive approximately 20 km until you reach the turnoff for Hatis. Turn right onto a smaller road that leads towards Mount Hatis. Follow this road for about 10 km. Keep an eye out for signs indicating the trailhead to Mount Hatis. There is ample parking available near the trailhead.

Public Transportation
To reach Mount Hatis via public transport, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Ijevan to Dilijan. Marshrutkas depart from Ijevan’s main bus station, and the fare is around 500 AMD (approximately $1.30). After arriving in Dilijan, you will need to catch another marshrutka that goes towards Hatis or a taxi that can take you directly to the trailhead. The taxi ride may cost around 2000 AMD (about $5.50). Once you arrive at the trailhead, there is a small fee of around 1000 AMD (less than $3) to access the hiking areas.

For those who are adventurous and enjoy hiking, you can start your journey from the village of Hatis, which is about 5 km from the trailhead. From the village, follow the marked hiking trails leading up to Mount Hatis. The hike can take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace and the trail conditions. Make sure to wear suitable footwear and bring enough water, as the trail can be steep and challenging in certain sections.
