Walking
Start from the main square in Tsaghkadzor, where the main lift is located. Head east on Abovyan Street. Continue straight for about 1.5 km, passing by various shops and cafes. As you walk, enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding mountains. Keep an eye out for signs that may indicate the direction to the Matosavank Monastery. After about 20-25 minutes of walking, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left path, which will lead you slightly uphill. Follow this road for another 500 meters until you see the entrance to Matosavank Monastery on your right.
Hiking
For a more adventurous route, you can hike to Matosavank Monastery. From the main square in Tsaghkadzor, follow the same initial path as for the walking route. However, instead of staying on Abovyan Street, look for a trail that leads into the forest on your left after about 1 km. This trail will take you through beautiful landscapes and offer a more rugged experience. Follow the trail for about 1 km, and it will eventually lead you to the monastery, which will be visible from the higher elevation.
