Getting There

  • Car

    Start your journey from the town of Yeghegnadzor, the capital of Vayots Dzor. Head south on the M-2 highway towards Vayk. After approximately 12 kilometers, you will reach a junction. Take a left turn onto the A-1 road heading towards Martuni. Continue for about 20 kilometers until you see signs for Mount Armaghan. Follow the signs, and you may need to drive on a dirt road for the last few kilometers to reach the base of the mountain. Parking is available near the trailhead.

  • Public Transportation

    From Yeghegnadzor, take a marshrutka (minibus) towards Vayk. The journey should take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Vayk, you will need to find transportation to Martuni. Look for local taxis or arrange for a ride with fellow travelers. The taxi fare from Vayk to Martuni is approximately 5,000 AMD. After reaching Martuni, you can either hike to the base of Mount Armaghan (around 5 kilometers) or arrange for a taxi to take you directly to the trailhead.

    If you prefer to hike, you can access the trails leading to Mount Armaghan from the nearby village of Gndevaz. You can reach Gndevaz either by car or by taking a marshrutka from Yeghegnadzor to Vayk and then another from Vayk to Gndevaz. The hike from Gndevaz to the summit of Mount Armaghan is roughly 7 kilometers and can take about 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry enough water for the trip.
