The Komitas Museum-Institute, located at 28 Arshakunyats Ave in Yerevan, stands as a tribute to Soghomon Soghomonyan, better known as Komitas, a revered Armenian musicologist, composer, and ethnomusicologist. Officially opened on January 29, 2015, the museum aims to comprehensively present Komitas's life, creative activities, and his multifaceted impact on Armenian music. The museum's collection is housed within a modern building designed by Artur Meschian, replacing the former Palace of Culture. The architecture combines a red tuff exterior with white travertine elements. Inside, eight galleries chronicle Komitas's life and creative journey. Exhibits include personal belongings, handwritten musical manuscripts, a collection of books, artworks, sculptures, and scholarly writings dedicated to his life and music. Visitors can explore Komitas's musical, theoretical, and spiritual contributions. The museum also features a concert hall that accommodates 200 guests and hosts musical events. The Komitas Museum-Institute is located in the Komitas Park. Komitas's music plays throughout the exhibition halls. The museum offers English-language resources.
